The rise of Single Board Computers

Single Board Computers or SBCs as they are acronymed for are as the name suggests. A computer based on a single board. The required functionality of a computer is etched into a single printed circuit board thus the computer becomes highly portable.
They have been around a while now. Some smartphones can be taken as the utmost examples of single board computers. The first ever single board computer appeared in the May 1976 issue of the Radio Electronics magazine. The increasing density of integrated circuits made the single board computers possible.

Single board computers are a solution to bulky space required for computers. These systems allow an overall small system, reduce the cost overhead and increase reliability due to minimum use of connectors.

The most interesting features that we found worthy was the price of the unit and the power that came packed in the price! 🙂
